Once A Bully

Just released!

Moira is not a nice girl. She is mean. When this class bully goes a little too far, what will she do to redeem herself? How does it affect the one person she cares about?

Find out in Once a Bully.

Available at these fine e-book stores today.

I was going to market and post this a bit before publishing, but some part of me just said, “Why are you waiting? Go ahead and do it already.” So, here it is.

Buy, read, and review! If you love it, please share the links with anyone you think will also enjoy it.

Have you ever searched for the right words to describe your character?

Whether they be protagonist or antagonist, some of the best traits are found in ourselves.

Selfishness, greed, the rage at being at the back of a long line. Forgiveness, self-depreciation, charity. We all have traits and moments where we embody the worst and the best humanity has to offer.

Every character you create should have a well-rounded personality, with good and bad intentions. It is their goals and how they achieve them that makes them good or evil.

Try looking inside yourself for your best and/or worst traits, amplify them, what kind of character does it create? Maybe you have found the arch-nemesis for your story, or a deity worthy of building your world around.

Exploring the depths of our world, our histories and our emotions can bring so much to the surface. You can use it, create something new from it or even heal your own emotional scars.

Dig deep, bring it to light.

New content coming!

So, it is obviously the very early days of this little site. It feels like climbing a mountain. There is so much already put into this, and so much more that still needs to be done. Not to mention the need to post on a regular basis. Can I do this? My first instinct is to say, “I hope so.” But that offers a little sliver of defeat and I do not want that. Yes. I will do this.

You are probably asking, “What is coming, Heather?”

Well, the short answer is Art! and Stories! and Art with Stories! Because hey, who doesn’t love a little visual impact with their words. I have just written a little short story that will be posted soon about redemption. It makes me wonder if I could create a picture worthy of the topic to add some visual impact.

Speaking of pictures and impact. I have pulled a load of my pictures from my other website and will be posting them here under Photo Edits. I have made dozens of edits, some with little bits of poetry on them. With each post, I will either write a story to go with it or discuss my thoughts, insights, and emotions behind the picture. I would love if you would interact with me after each post. Tell me your own stories. Let me know where the picture transports you? Have you ever felt what I have? I would love to hear from you.

As I write Asperatus and get it ready for publishing and print. I will let you know where I am on that path. As it stands; the first draft is complete, I am doing what I call Red Blocking it. For me, red blocking is done during the read-through. It is where you don’t actually start editing, but place your thoughts in the margins, how you feel about the section, the chapter. what works, what doesn’t. Once I am done that, I will start reworking it through my first edit. The first edit is all about structure. Moving scenes about, and making the big changes and sacrifices. If you have questions about this, please ask. I will do my best to answer.

There will also be more short stories coming up that will help build the lore of the Lands of Uhrset. Now, what is Lands of Uhrset? It is the little realm of Fantasy that I have been stewing over for the last few years. I want to bring it to life. Make it real. Share it with you. It is time. I have already started creating a map. This is how we know it’s real.

Until next time!
